In the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area safety is a top priority. That’s why the FIS rules of conduct apply to all skiers and snowboarders. The motto? Avoid risks and show responsibility! Thanks to new techniques and cool equipment, fun on the slopes has become faster and faster over the years. When snowboarding & skiing in Hochgurgl, the following applies: pay attention to safety and show consideration for other winter sportspeople. Please study the FIS code of conduct and stick to it. Respect for others

When skiing and snowboarding in Hochgurgl, all winter sports fans should behave in such a way that they do not endanger or prejudice others.

2.

Speed & skill level

Every skier and snowboarder must ski in control, ready to stop at any moment. It means adapting the speed and skiing style to the ability level as well as to terrain, snow & weather conditions and crowdedness of ski slope.

3.

Choice of route

Skiers or snowboarders coming from behind must choose their downhill route in such a way that they do not endanger other skiers or snowboarders ahead.

4.

Overtaking

Overtaking is permitted from above or below, from the right or from the left. But always at a distance that leaves enough space for the overtaken skier/snowboarder to make any voluntary or involuntary movement.

Entering, starting & moving uphill

When skiing and snowboarding in Hochgurgl, the following applies: anyone who wants to enter a slope, start again after stopping or moves/skis up the slope must check all directions (uphill & downhill) to make sure that it is possible without endangering themselves or others.

6.

Stopping on the slope

Unless absolutely necessary, all winter sports fans must avoid stopping on the slope in narrow places or where visibility is restricted. After a fall in such a place, the skier or snowboarder is strongly recommended to stand up and leave the area immediately.

Climbing and descending on foot

Skiers or snowboarders either climbing or descending on foot must always keep to the very edge of the ski run.

8.

Pay attention to signs and markings

Snowboarders and skiers in Hochgurgl must observe all markings and signs within the entire ski area.

9.

Assistance and help

In case of an accident on the slope, every skier and snowboarder is obliged to provide assistance and help.

10.

Obligatory identification

All skiers or snowboarders and witnesses, whether responsible party or not, must provide personal details, exchange names and addresses in case of an accident.
